SHAH ALAM, 3 February 2026 - PRO-NET, a subsidiary of national automaker PROTON, announces 3,026 units of the Proton e.MAS 5, the second electric vehicle (EV) model under the Proton e.MAS brand was delivered in January 2026. This is the most deliveries of a single model that PRO-NET has ever made in a single month. Cementing further the Proton e.MAS brand’s presence in Malaysia, which recorded a landmark year in 2025 with 9,549 vehicles sold, representing approximately six percent of PROTON’s total annual sales and capturing 22 percent of Malaysia’s EV market share.
Launched on 30 October 2025, the Proton e.MAS 5 was introduced as Malaysia’s First Affordable EV, designed to bring electrified mobility within reach of everyday Malaysians. Its debut was preceded by a high-profile public showcase at the ASEAN Summit, underscoring national and regional confidence in PROTON’s electrification direction.
Demand for the Proton e.MAS 5 surged immediately, reflecting a clear shift in Malaysian consumers’ readiness for accessible EV ownership.
