Celebration highlights OTA feature updates, customer feedback sharing, and EV ecosystem expansion
Subang Jaya, 15 April 2025 – In a heartfelt celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) a subsidiary of national carmaker PROTON, welcomed Proton e.MAS 7 owners for an exclusive PIONEER Hari Raya Open House. The event took place at the PROTON Center of Excellence on 12 April 2025, merging tradition and technology in a beautiful way. As the second get-together event for owners this year, it provided a distinctive opportunity for joyful festive interactions, shared stories, and important discussions about the future of sustainable mobility.
Focused on the spirit of Syawal and the collective journey towards electrification, the open house united Proton e.MAS 7 owners from all corners of the country creating a significant environment for connection, experience sharing, and honoring their contributions to the nation’s electric vehicle. Over 300 guests gathered, adding a vibrant and warm energy to the event.
A Celebration With Purpose
While the event carried the warmth of Hari Raya festivities, it also served as an open dialogue between owners, PRO-NET representatives, and technology experts. Attendees had the opportunity to share their feedback on the product, ecosystem, and features they hope to see in future updates—ensuring the Proton e.MAS 7 continues to evolve in tandem with user needs.
“Today’s event is more than a celebration—it’s a statement of appreciation and unity,” said Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET. “The Proton e.MAS 7 would not have reached its No. 1 position without the early support of our PIONEER owners. You are the heart of this growing community. As we continue to build the Proton e.MAS ecosystem together, your feedback and presence drive us to do better every day.”
Listening, Improving, and Growing
The event also offered customers a closer look at PRO-NET’s Over-The-Air (OTA) roadmap for the Proton e.MAS 7, including upcoming feature updates and improvements. These include easier charging controls via the touchscreen and mobile app, improved driving comfort through ABS tuning, and enhancements to battery preheating and location updates during vehicle hibernation. A new update also makes scheduled travel more seamless by unlocking the car automatically when battery prep is complete.
Customers were also introduced to important battery care tips for both LFP and NMC types, empowering them to extend battery life and performance. PRO-NET further highlighted its expanding EV ecosystem, with now over 2,300 public charging points across the country—covering 90% of Malaysia.
“It’s great to see PROTON stepping into the EV space. For me, choosing the e.MAS 7 was easy—it’s a national brand I trust, and with dealers available nationwide, it gives me peace of mind,” shared Mr Azwan, an e.MAS 7 owner from Perak.
Mr Amin, another attendee, added, “My e.MAS 7 has changed how I look at daily driving. The performance, the tech, and the low running cost—it’s the future. But what’s even better is knowing that Proton wants to hear from us directly.”
Community-Driven, Forward-Looking
With over 1,853 units delivered in Q1 2025 and a strong 26% year-to-date (YTD) market share, the Proton e.MAS 7 remains Malaysia’s best-selling EV. Events like this play a crucial role in not only celebrating milestones but in deepening customer confidence and nurturing a tight-knit EV community.
